Privacy Policy

In short. We don’t store your dictations: the audio and text pass through our server and neural networks and are not saved with us, while your history stays on your computer. To spell names right, a dictation also sends the window title and the last copied text; you can turn off sending the copied text. When an answer needs it, the assistant sends a neural network a screenshot or the selected text. We store your account, payments, settings and support requests. Some data goes abroad: to our server and to neural networks. You can ask us to delete everything.
Language. This English text is a translation for convenience. The Russian text is the governing one; if the two differ, the Russian text prevails.
1. Who is responsible for the data
The data operator is Dmitry Vladimirovich Ignatov (Игнатов Дмитрий Владимирович), self-employed, taxpayer ID (INN) 720705126678, brand Sinsual. Email for any questions: support@casualwhisper.com.
2. What we collect and why
| What | Which data | Why | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Account | Email; name, if you signed in with Google, Yandex or Telegram; country and language; your password as an irreversible hash (we don’t know the password itself) | Sign-in, support, emails | While the account exists |
| Sign-ins and devices | IP address, country by IP, browser and system, app version, installation ID, sign-in times | Security, abuse protection (the trial), the list of your devices | While the account exists |
| Money | Amounts, dates and statuses of payments, balance, subscriptions, promo codes, referrals, payouts. We don’t see or store your card details: you enter them on the payment service’s page. We keep only a technical identifier for auto top-up | To take a payment, refund, bookkeeping, disputes | As long as needed for bookkeeping and disputes, up to 5 years |
| Settings | Dictionary, modes, keys, languages | Syncing between your computers | While the account exists |
| Support | Your requests and correspondence. If you write from the app, the assistant chat you sent is saved with the request | To help and to handle complaints | Up to 3 years |
| Usage | How many words and actions you used and what they cost. Per dictation: word count, duration, cost | Plan limits, pay as you go | While the account exists |
| Failures and speed | For each request to speech recognition and neural networks: when, whether it worked, the error code, which service answered, how long it took, the app version. No text or audio | Find and fix failures | 90 days |
| App diagnostics | Which screens and Settings sections are open, which features are clicked, app errors and crashes, dictation delays by stage, shortcut failures, updates, the program (.exe file) you dictated into, Windows version, keyboard layout, number of monitors. No audio, text, clipboard, window titles or page addresses | Find and fix app errors. Turn it off in the app: Settings → Data → “Send diagnostics” | 60 days, deleted with the account |
| Website | Our own counter with no cookies: pages, referral source (utm), country, device type and browser. The visitor is an anonymous hash of IP and browser with a daily salt, from which a person cannot be identified | To understand how the website works | A limited time, in anonymised form |
| Dictation | The audio and text of dictations, voice notes and files you send for transcription. They pass through the server and neural networks on the fly and are not stored | To turn speech into text and process it | Not stored |
| Dictation context | The title of the window you dictate into and the last text you copied to the clipboard, up to 1,000 characters. You can stop sending the copied text: Settings → Data → “Use copied text” | To spell names and terms right. On the Pro and Ultra plans the context goes to the text-processing neural network with the dictation text; on Free the server doesn’t use it | Not stored |
| Assistant | Your request by voice or text, the chat and what the answer needs: text selected in another app, a screenshot of the screen or a chosen area (the assistant’s own windows are hidden from it), an image you attached, clipboard text, matching History entries, the app name and window title | To answer and do what you asked | Not stored; the assistant chat stays on your computer |
3. What stays only with you
Dictation history, voice recordings, voice notes, the assistant chat and app files live on your computer. We don’t store them and can’t restore them.
4. Who we share data with
| Who | What they receive | Why | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Neural network providers through the OpenRouter aggregator: speech recognition (Microsoft, and the backup model Deepgram when Microsoft’s model doesn’t answer), text processing, voice notes, the assistant and chat (models by DeepSeek, Google, Alibaba Qwen, OpenAI, TypeSafe; the list may change), web search for the assistant. When speech recognition at OpenRouter is overloaded, audio goes to the same Microsoft model through the Russian aggregator RouterAI (Inter LLC) | The audio of a dictation, note or file; the dictation text; your dictionary; the name and window title of the app the text goes into; on the Pro and Ultra plans the last copied text up to 1,000 characters, unless you turned it off; the mode instruction. For the assistant: your request and what the answer needs (section 2), and for web search the search query. We don’t send your email or name | To turn speech into text, process it and answer your question | The USA, China and other countries where the providers’ servers are |
| Payment service | Amount, order number and, if required, your email for the receipt | To take payment | Determined by it |
| Email service Selectel (SMTP) | Your address and the text of the email | To send codes and notices | Determined by it |
| Cloudflare | All traffic to the website and API: IP address and requests | Protection and speed | Many countries |
| Our server | Everything from section 2 (except cards and dictations) | To run the service | The Netherlands |
| Google, Yandex, Telegram | The fact of sign-in, if you signed in through them. We receive your email and name from them | Sign-in | Determined by them |
| Government bodies | Only what the law requires | To comply with the law | — |
For speech recognition, text processing and chat we only use OpenRouter providers that, under their own rules, don’t store requests or train on them. Under its own rules, RouterAI doesn’t store the content of requests and only passes them to the model provider.
We don’t sell data and we don’t show ads.
5. Transfer abroad and consent
We process data on a server in the country given in section 4 and pass it to neural networks in the USA, China and other countries. The level of data protection there may differ from that in Russia and the EU. Neural network providers process data under their own rules: we choose them and don’t send more than a feature needs to work, but we don’t control their internal processes.
You give consent to such processing and transfer of the data listed in sections 2 and 4 with a separate checkbox when you sign up or the first time you open your account: Consent to personal data processing. You can withdraw it by writing to support@casualwhisper.com or by deleting your account. Without it the service cannot work, and we will delete your account.
6. Why we may do this
Processing is needed to perform our agreement with you: to keep your account, take payment and provide the service (Terms). Transfer abroad and emails are based on your consent. We keep some data because the law requires it or to defend ourselves in a dispute.
7. How long we keep it
The periods are in the table. After you delete your account, we delete or anonymise the data within 30 days. The exceptions are payment records, which are needed for bookkeeping, and anything needed to defend ourselves in a dispute.
8. Your rights
You can ask what data we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, ask us to delete it, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent. Write from your account email to support@casualwhisper.com; we answer within 10 working days. You can complain to the data protection authority in your country.
9. Security
The connection to the service uses HTTPS, passwords are stored as hashes, access to data is restricted, and backups are made. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects you, we will tell you.
10. Cookies and browser storage
The website sets one technical cookie for signing in to your account, plus a cookie for a few minutes when you sign in with Google or Yandex. Browser storage holds the website language, advertising link tags (utm) for up to 30 days, and a tab identifier for the counter. There are no advertising or third-party analytics cookies.
11. Children
The service is for people aged 18 or over; 14 to 18 with a parent’s consent. We knowingly don’t collect data of children under 14. If we learn of any, we delete it.
12. Changes
A new version is published here with a date. For material changes we warn you in your account, in the app or by email.
